[a frustrated sigh is the first thing to broadcast over the Sphere, followed by the appearance of a tall, skinny woman with long, dark hair who appears to be wearing a suit exactly like the Doctor's brown pinstripe suit. unfortunately, the Sphere's only showing her from behind and there really isn't much to see as she doesn't have much of a figure. she doesn't seem to notice that her trousers are a little tight around her hips--the only thing, really, that is snug--but otherwise, they're cut to length. the only things that are ill-fitting are the suit-coat, which is too baggy around her shoulders, and the button-up shirt and other ones layered underneath.]

[grumbling under her breath, she runs an impatient hand through her hair.] Damn glasses, they used to stay on my face...

[finally, the Sphere swings around to show her fast at work in the security station, her expression severe and focused completely on the task at hand. until she suddenly smacks a hand on the desk and slumps into a chair there. she tears the glasses from her face and tucks them away into an inside pocket of her suit.]

Blimey, what the hell did he do?! I've tried everything and I still can't figure it out. There has to be something I'm missing...

[mumbles] Like proving to somebody that you're a time traveller and meeting them earlier in the day--only to have them meet your earlier self later in their time line...

I would've thought having them step into the TARDIS would've been easier!

Would've, but this way was more fun at the time. [grins mischievously. he might've been showing off a little too.]

Oh, so that's what happened. [grins, amused]

Yes, yes, that's what happened...

[continues to mix, eventually reaching for the baking sheets.] Here, want to sample the dough? See if it's to your liking?

[oliverplus]

You're really taking the challenge seriously, aren't you? Sure, I'll do that!

[bit_impossible]

Why wouldn't I take it seriously? [offers Oliver the beater and doles out bits of dough onto the baking sheets.]

[oliverplus]

Well, I don't know! You don't seem to like taking things seriously unless you have to.

[tests the dough, considering very thoughtfully for a moment. smirk] Yeah, that'll do.

[bit_impossible]

[a bruised ego helps too, Ollie.] Well, this is different. [huffs and shoves a filled tray into the oven.]

[oliverplus]

Oh, come on, Doctor, don't look so offended! It's good, really!

[bit_impossible]

[instantly brightens and grins, folding his arms in front of him. for a moment, he's reminded that, yes, two somethings are still very much there and he adjusts his arms a little lower.] Darn right it's good. Told you it would be. Besides, you've been watching me closely enough to see I didn't drug it this time.

[oliverplus]

[shocked] You were thinking of drugging it again!?

[bit_impossible]

[aghast] What?! No! Why would I?

[oliverplus]

I don't know! But you've done it enough times before.

[bit_impossible]

Only because you were hurt those other times and couldn't rest.

[oliverplus]

Or I wasn't resting enough for your liking. You put yourself in charge of my health a lot, you know that, Doctor?

[bit_impossible]

Only because you don't--or didn't at the time. We've already had this discussion and I'm not going into it again. [eyes the timer for the biscuits. a few minutes left.]

[oliverplus]

[raises an eyebrow at her] Did I upset you again!? I'm always doing that.

[bit_impossible]

[a little brighter than he meant it to be.] Not lately! You've done well staying out of hospital.

[oliverplus]

Well, yeah, but you get upset with me for more than just that!

[bit_impossible]

[heads over to Oliver, standing right in front of him] Look. You're not always going to do something I agree with, that's practically a given with everybody I've travelled with. And I only react that way because I care too much about you. You're just going to have to accept that--just like how I'm going to have to accept the boneheaded things you do in turn. [puts on a small smile] All right?

[oliverplus]

[blinks at him for a moment] You care too much, Doctor.

But yeah, I think it works out between us in the end. Don't you?

[bit_impossible]

[is tempted to pinch his cheek, but instead pats it, grinning] I do, Ollie boy! [and walks back over to the oven, stooping over to check on the biscuits.]

[oliverplus]

[grins back at him, feeling rather glad about that conversation]

How're the biscuits coming?

[bit_impossible]

[absently] Not...quite there yet...
