[a frustrated sigh is the first thing to broadcast over the Sphere, followed by the appearance of a tall, skinny woman with long, dark hair who appears to be wearing a suit exactly like the Doctor's brown pinstripe suit. unfortunately, the Sphere's only showing her from behind and there really isn't much to see as she doesn't have much of a figure. she doesn't seem to notice that her trousers are a little tight around her hips--the only thing, really, that is snug--but otherwise, they're cut to length. the only things that are ill-fitting are the suit-coat, which is too baggy around her shoulders, and the button-up shirt and other ones layered underneath.]

[grumbling under her breath, she runs an impatient hand through her hair.] Damn glasses, they used to stay on my face...

[finally, the Sphere swings around to show her fast at work in the security station, her expression severe and focused completely on the task at hand. until she suddenly smacks a hand on the desk and slumps into a chair there. she tears the glasses from her face and tucks them away into an inside pocket of her suit.]

Blimey, what the hell did he do?! I've tried everything and I still can't figure it out. There has to be something I'm missing...

[smiles and puts the fork partially into Oliver's mouth before withdrawing it] Well? What do you think?

[oliverplus]

[chews and swallows...whatever that just was. considers for a moment] That's gotta be the tastiest slimy food I've ever eaten!

Here, do you want to try mine? [reaches down to pick up one of the skewers, but stops, staring at the bright red meat] When did that happen?

[bit_impossible]

See? Appearances can be deceiving! [laughs at Oliver's very red meat bits] Just like your entrée!

[oliverplus]

[eyes it uncertainly] I hope it tastes the same. [picks a skewer up and stuffs it in his mouth, chewing it slowly, his eyes suddenly widening. lunges for his pint. after several swallows and a few deep breaths, he speaks again] That just got spicy!

[bit_impossible]

[excitedly] Does it really? [plucks off a piece and pops it in his mouth. after a moment of chewing, the spice finally hits his tongue, but his reaction to it is far less dramatic] Woo, that really is! Hah, I haven't had anything this spicy in a while!

[oliverplus]

[his eyes are watering] Neither have I. Probably not ever. [and he probably shouldn't be downing his pint this fast, but he doesn't really care at the moment]

[bit_impossible]

[grins mischievously and resists giving his shoulder a pat.] Well, you can't say that now, can you? Might want to watch how fast you're drinking that though. If it doesn't upset your stomach, it'll at least give you horrific gas later.

[oliverplus]

[comes up for air] But it was hot! [gasping]

[bit_impossible]

[orders him a glass of milk] There are better solutions for an over-spiced mouth, Ollie.

[and that solution appears just then! he plunks the glass of milk down in front of him.] Drink that instead.

[oliverplus]

[takes the milk eagerly and starts downing that now. lack of inhibitions isn't doing much for his manners, sorry]

[shakes head and continues to eat his dish]

[oliverplus]

[sighs in relief, pushing aside the now-empty glass. eyes his food, noticing that it seems to have gone back to orange] Think it's safe now? [he might still sound just a bit breathless. and, being without inhibitions, he goes ahead and picks up a skewer and stuffs it in his mouth without waiting. wouldn't want it to turn red again, after all!]

[laughs] You didn't even give me a chance to answer! So, Mister Spicy Lightweight, is the orange more to your satisfaction?

[oliverplus]

[still has food in his mouth] Yeah. [swallows and smiles] If it goes spicy again, you can finish it.

[bit_impossible]

Well, what if it turns yellow? What d'you think it'll taste like then? Mustard?

[oliverplus]

[makes a face] Hope not! Maybe it just gets blander as it gets lighter? [eats some more of the meat while it's still orange]

Never know, it could become sour or worse if it turns green or blue. Imagine what violet might taste like!

[oliverplus]

[quirks an eyebrow, swallowing] What would violet food taste like?

[bit_impossible]

[grins mischievously and reaches for the menu] Shall we find out?

[oliverplus]

[grins] Yeah, let's give it a go!

[bit_impossible]

[orders the first violet dish he sees!] Go on, finish up your orange nibbles there before they really do change colour again. [tucks in to his interesting blue food.]

Working on it! [just about had the next skewer in his mouth when you said that]

[bit_impossible]

[while they're eating, the new dish arrives. he's mostly done with his, but he saves the rest of it just in case this doesn't taste like the other violet-coloured food he's had before.]

Interesting...look at the little flames on it! It's an excitable flavour accelerator. [licks his fingers and dips them into the cool flames and they dance up his fingers partway.] But! It doesn't harm living flesh like yours and mine. Actually, if I read the menu correctly, this is more of a vegetarian dish.

[oliverplus]

[has stopped with one skewer left, the meat on which is currently turning yellow] Wait, so the flames add flavour? What's it taste like?

Add and enhance, bit like the way salt does, or so the greatest chefs on Earth say. [licks the flames of his fingers] Hmmm. Try it yourself and see what you think. It's good, but! I'm not going to taint your opinion further.
