[a frustrated sigh is the first thing to broadcast over the Sphere, followed by the appearance of a tall, skinny woman with long, dark hair who appears to be wearing a suit exactly like the Doctor's brown pinstripe suit. unfortunately, the Sphere's only showing her from behind and there really isn't much to see as she doesn't have much of a figure. she doesn't seem to notice that her trousers are a little tight around her hips--the only thing, really, that is snug--but otherwise, they're cut to length. the only things that are ill-fitting are the suit-coat, which is too baggy around her shoulders, and the button-up shirt and other ones layered underneath.]

[grumbling under her breath, she runs an impatient hand through her hair.] Damn glasses, they used to stay on my face...

[finally, the Sphere swings around to show her fast at work in the security station, her expression severe and focused completely on the task at hand. until she suddenly smacks a hand on the desk and slumps into a chair there. she tears the glasses from her face and tucks them away into an inside pocket of her suit.]

Blimey, what the hell did he do?! I've tried everything and I still can't figure it out. There has to be something I'm missing...

[flips through his menu, tilting it as he studies the item] Uh...interesting's one word for it. You sure that's edible?

[bit_impossible]

[gives an innocent shrug] Well...I have a strong stomach. And it doesn't look all that chewy. Or slimy.

Go on, how about you?

[oliverplus]

I was thinking about the skewered orange...bits. Number...[checks]...257.

[bit_impossible]

[flips to the next page] Ah that! [considers it, scrutinising the orange bits] Well...if anything, we could always swap dishes if we don't like what we've chosen.

[oliverplus]

Or order another dish.

Okay, I'm going for it! [reaches out with his left hand, scanning his barcode and saying his order]

[bit_impossible]

[puts his order in too and sets his menu aside] Dodgy food or not, I think coming here was a grand idea, Ollie.

[oliverplus]

[grins] Me too. And I'm glad you think so!

[bit_impossible]

Still, I think some normalcy is required. [orders a couple pints]

[oliverplus]

[laughs] Now there's an even better idea!

[bit_impossible]

[joins in Oliver's laughter] Somehow, I had a feeling you'd approve! I'd have to start worrying if you turned down a pint.

[oliverplus]

Oh yeah, there'd have to be something really wrong if that ever happened!

[turns at the sound of a door sliding open in the wall. watches as a tray of food comes out of it--including two tall pints]

There we go! [takes his pint and plate off the tray] You ready for this, Doctor? [picks up one of the skewers and, being without inhibitions, eats the orange...something...off it without hesitation]

[bit_impossible]

[unfortunately, his didn't come on a convenient skewer, and after chasing the blue slab around the plate and eventually onto the table, he could see why.] Oh, I will be once I get a piece of--[finally manages to stick it with his fork]--ah ha! Got you!

[turns around in his seat and takes a fork from the nearby unoccupied table after he cuts a piece of it off and thankfully, the piece is easier to pick up with his fork.] I think I'll leave this one right where it is. [sticks the piece of whatever--he didn't really take note of the name--into his mouth and finds it surprisingly tender.] Hmmm, not bad! Not bad at all!

[oliverplus]

[just...watches him. deadpan] Doctor, your food's still alive.

[bit_impossible]

[giggles and picks up his food to show that it's not. as he does so, it continues to drip blue sauce/glaze/possibly slime onto the plate] Nah, not really. It's just really slippery.

[oliverplus]

[the mind, it boggles] And you're enjoying something that...gooey? What does that even taste like? [he's so distracted that he doesn't notice the meat on his other skewers is slowly changing to a progressively darker colour]

[bit_impossible]

[cuts off a couple more pieces, skewers one on his fork, and holds it out to Ollie] Open up and see for yourself.

[oliverplus]

If you say so! [opens his mouth for it]

[bit_impossible]

[smiles and puts the fork partially into Oliver's mouth before withdrawing it] Well? What do you think?

[oliverplus]

[chews and swallows...whatever that just was. considers for a moment] That's gotta be the tastiest slimy food I've ever eaten!

Here, do you want to try mine? [reaches down to pick up one of the skewers, but stops, staring at the bright red meat] When did that happen?

[bit_impossible]

See? Appearances can be deceiving! [laughs at Oliver's very red meat bits] Just like your entrée!

[oliverplus]

[eyes it uncertainly] I hope it tastes the same. [picks a skewer up and stuffs it in his mouth, chewing it slowly, his eyes suddenly widening. lunges for his pint. after several swallows and a few deep breaths, he speaks again] That just got spicy!

[bit_impossible]

[excitedly] Does it really? [plucks off a piece and pops it in his mouth. after a moment of chewing, the spice finally hits his tongue, but his reaction to it is far less dramatic] Woo, that really is! Hah, I haven't had anything this spicy in a while!

[oliverplus]

[his eyes are watering] Neither have I. Probably not ever. [and he probably shouldn't be downing his pint this fast, but he doesn't really care at the moment]

[bit_impossible]

[grins mischievously and resists giving his shoulder a pat.] Well, you can't say that now, can you? Might want to watch how fast you're drinking that though. If it doesn't upset your stomach, it'll at least give you horrific gas later.

[oliverplus]

[comes up for air] But it was hot! [gasping]
