[when the Sphere turns on, it appears as though it's caught him in the middle of a bath, water dripping off his wet hair onto naked shoulders. only, a moment later, the Sphere pulls back a little to reveal a large length of silken brown, blue, and white striped fabric that once was his tie set around something that looks suspiciously like a blue tea cup. in fact, it is, especially if the giant tea spoon peeking out from underneath the tie and the giant tin filled with English Breakfast tea is any indication.

in truth, he's not exactly sure what he thinks about being able to take a bath in his tea cup. he'd rather be drinking his tea, not sitting in the water he intended to use for it. from the displeased expression on his face, he's rather annoyed at the Sphere for catching him in his current predicament. he doesn't bother to mention Ganymede; he's already made his complaints to the Captain.]

Well, I can definitely say I've never done this before. Can check it off my list--though, I'll have to add it to the list then check it off. [mutters] And I've never worn my tie like that before...

[he sighs, slinging his wet arms over the edge of the tea cup, his feet poking up out of the water on the other side.] This new height is very inconvenient. I wanted to modify my Sphere today, but I can't even carry my sonic screwdriver without help. [from off-screen, there's a little squeak, the tone robotic and tinny, followed by a couple others.] Yes, yes, I know you have a job to do, but you're helping me out! That's your job for right now.

Anyway, where was I? [pauses for a moment, running a hand through his hair and ignoring the continued squeaks of protest from off-screen.] Oh yes, being inconvenienced. I rather think that's a theme Ganymede likes to use in these games of his. Orion does a good enough job dabbling in them himself, though he plays those off as us doing him a favour, or us needing to do something so he can help us. Fat lot of good he's been so far. Let him on-board and his father'll turn up dead again--and where will our answers be then? At the end of another black hole?

Ah, clothes first I think. Just a shirt and trousers, something to cover up a bit.

Then yes, I say we take advantage of our reduced sizes and see if there are any ventilation shafts we can crawl through. [he whistles loudly, gaining the attention of the robotic mice and they scurry off the counter and soon join them in the den.]

Where do you expect to find garments that would fit you now?

[watches the mice, crouching low to get a better look, still holding the Doctor to her chest] I should be able to access a directory of the ship. I will find the proper schematics and seek out ventilation ducts for us to use.

There's a toy shop on Level 15. Should be some doll clothes there I could wear.

[he clings on to her arm as she has a look at the mice.] Hopefully it'll let us use those. It's a bit hit or miss where things like that are concerned.

Ah yes. I will take us there in a moment. [and she starts heading toward the door!]

It should. We are not attempting to reach any areas that are off-limits, after all.

[patiently waits for her to reach the door before he glances up and sees where the scanner's located in relation to where he's being held.] Ah, will you be able to reach that?

I do not know. [sets him down and tries to reach, but alas, she can't quite make it. after a few hops, she blows out a breath, then heads back to the kitchen, dragging the stool with her when she returns] This is particularly inconvenient.

[he's squat down, knees together, as he waits for her to return. the noise of the stool as it screeches across the floor makes his skin crawl. he stands, plugging his ears, and shouts] You're not seriously considering to drag that everywhere, are you? Perhaps together, you and I can reach it?

Should I not? [oh, squeaky-voiced Doctor, how silly a question is that] I will need it to reach those things above my head. You are only fifteen centimetres tall, Doctor. Were you to stand on my head, we would reach seventy-five centimetres, with the possibility of stretching to approximately eighty-three -- perhaps another ninety if I held you aloft. If anything is above that height, we will require the stool.

[and she continues to shove the stool over to the door, scooping up the Doctor before hopping up onto it and holding him up] Can you reach the mechanism?

[stretches, his current state of undress no longer on his mind.] Yes--just about--[and he scans his barcode, the door sliding open!] Hah! Did it!

[he has a look around and thinks to himself how very Simba-like he feels being held like this and begins to laugh to himself.]

[smiles when the door opens] Splendid! [and hops down, pulling the Doctor to her chest again, wrapping one arm around him while the other presses against the stool so she can shove it out into the hallway]

Why are you laughing?

The "Circle of Life" comes to mind...

...Ah. Well, never mind, old girl. Let's just continue on toward the transportation pad.

Of course.

[you do know she's going to try and drag this stool with her while carrying you, I hope]

[oh he's noticed, and the screeching is finally getting to him.] TARDIS, hold on. I can't take much more of that stool being dragged around! I feel like my ear drums are about to burst. Can't you pick it up? Or in the very least leave it right here in the hall, see if we can reach the scanner without it, and then be on our merry way?

[hisoldgirl]

But I cannot carry the stool while carrying you, and we may not be able to reach the scanners without it. Is it not better to come prepared?

[bit_impossible]

Well, let's try it anyway. We can leave the stool out in the hall in order to get back into our room, but if I'm remembering correctly, scanners throughout the rest of the ship--well, ones not in the passenger cabin levels anyway--are lower, around where one would find a doorknob.

[hisoldgirl]

[seems unconvinced, but nods, leaving the stool as instructed] If you insist, Doctor.

[and off they go to the transmat!]

[smiles, resting against her arm.] I do.

[and he waits until they're near the transportation pad and raises his barcoded hand above his head, ready to be lifted up to the scanner.]

[lifts him as usual, humming quietly in the back of her throat as she pulls him back down to her and hops on the transmat, heading toward the shoppe on Level 15]

[admittedly, her humming sounds odd at that pitch, like she's switched on the bass and dialled down the treble. still, he finds her music comforting.]

Ah! There's a toy shop about five stores down on the right here. I think I saw enough dolls and other toys that should have clothing I can wear. I'm about the perfect size, I think.

[nods and hurries along toward said store, pushing open the door with her shoulder and making a beeline toward the doll department, lips pursed as she looks over everything]

I still believe this to be a waste of time.

You might, sure, but I'll feel a little better having some clothes on. I am particularly fond of them.

[spots something on a nearby shelf, a large display dollhouse set in between two cases.] Oh, set me down there, if you would.

You are particularly fond of a great many things you need not be.

[still, she does as instructed, wandering away a bit to look at some of the other toys while the Doctor rummages]

[he pretends he didn't hear that; he knows it's true.

soon, he finds a male doll wearing a T-shirt bearing a big snap in the back and trousers that are far too long for his legs (and also bearing a strip of Velcro in the front), but seeing as his other options all involved skirts of some sort, he opts for that outfit and simply rolls up the trouser legs.]

Well...[he makes a face, adjusting his clothes. nothing fit right whatsoever.] It's been a while since I've "gone commando", and I'm now remembering why.

And I think I'll have a chat with those doll makers to at least make them anatomically correct. Nobody's legs are that long. Well, not any human's.
