[curfew's just ending and where is he? in his suite like an obedient passenger, except he's not chomping on his bit to leave as usual, no, not today. when the sphere turns on, he's standing in the bathroom, the door closed, and wearing only just a pair of pyjama bottoms as he hangs his head over the sink. his face remains hidden from view as water droplets slide down his hair and trickle down the tip of his poor swollen nose. wet hands clutch white-knuckled at the edges of the sink while goose pimples run up bare arms and down his naked torso as he just stands there for a moment longer, oblivious to the transmission.

with his back still to the sphere, he reaches for a towel, gripping it awkwardly with his thumb and tries pinning the material between it and the glove-like cast on his left hand. after fumbling with it for a moment, he shifts his body and grabs at it with his good hand, muttering something under his breath as he throws the towel over his head. it's right then, however, as he's drying his hair that he catches the sphere in the mirror's reflection--and how he can tell that it's on when it looks like a miniature sun, well, it's probably best not to ask. probably wouldn't give a straight answer anyway.

and whether he'll admit if he's been to the curious window on Level 23 or not is anybody's guess.]

[frowns, shaking his head; he knew that question was coming--why else would he be up now?] No. I just had one of the usual nightmares is all.

Same one, huh? Nothing's changed this time?

Nothing new, no. I have a couple different ones now, but they don't really change.

[frowns] A couple of them, eh? I know about the one--know about that one very well. But what about the others? Have you told me about them before?

Maybe not... [he's talked about it with Lara, and he was going to talk to the Doctor the day those suits first appeared, but that definitely didn't go as planned...] It's always rather similar. But ever since Eos... [sighs, looking down] Sometimes it's the Puppeteer. And sometimes it's me.

You? How so?

The Puppeteer isn't there. It's just me--doing that.

Something tells me there's more to it than that.

[glances up at him, shrugging uncomfortably] It's not as bad as what you saw. And I've been through it enough times by now.

A nightmare's a nightmare, Oliver. If they're still getting you up this early, then there's something to this new one of yours, even if it isn't quite new.

[shakes his head] You don't understand, Doctor. It's the same dream. Anna's...still being choked. But sometimes it isn't the Puppeteer.

It's you. I see... [sighs and pours tea into their cups. might be a little strong since he forgot about it for a couple minutes.]

And you know that isn't true. It was never you.

[accepts the cup of tea, avoiding his gaze] It was on Eos.

[his face darkens] Oliver, what happened there wasn't your fault. It was the planet and that pollen that made us do the things we did.

And it could happen again. And as long as I'm afraid of that...well, I'm sure that's why I have the nightmares.

But it's okay. I'm used to it by now.

[sighs] You shouldn't have to be.

[look up at him] And neither should you.

What, used to nightmares? I've had nightmares that'll give your nightmares many sleepless nights!

No. I've never had that one before. [not quite like it, anyway]

[frowns thoughtfully] There has to be something we can do about this.

About what? The nightmares in general? [sighs and sips his tea] That's what I'm trying to find out.

At least about the nightmares that...window, or whatever it is, is causing. Is there anything else new in the holo-suite?

No. I was just there before curfew. I hate to say it, but it drew me in. I didn't want to look away.

What do you mean? How does it keep doing that, even when people know what's going to happen?
