[curfew's just ending and where is he? in his suite like an obedient passenger, except he's not chomping on his bit to leave as usual, no, not today. when the sphere turns on, he's standing in the bathroom, the door closed, and wearing only just a pair of pyjama bottoms as he hangs his head over the sink. his face remains hidden from view as water droplets slide down his hair and trickle down the tip of his poor swollen nose. wet hands clutch white-knuckled at the edges of the sink while goose pimples run up bare arms and down his naked torso as he just stands there for a moment longer, oblivious to the transmission.

with his back still to the sphere, he reaches for a towel, gripping it awkwardly with his thumb and tries pinning the material between it and the glove-like cast on his left hand. after fumbling with it for a moment, he shifts his body and grabs at it with his good hand, muttering something under his breath as he throws the towel over his head. it's right then, however, as he's drying his hair that he catches the sphere in the mirror's reflection--and how he can tell that it's on when it looks like a miniature sun, well, it's probably best not to ask. probably wouldn't give a straight answer anyway.

and whether he'll admit if he's been to the curious window on Level 23 or not is anybody's guess.]

[figures he might as well since he's said this much already.]

Countless bodies; people I knew and loved, everyone I've ever met. All of them dead, and all I could feel was their warm blood dripping down my face and neck, my hands coated and shaking. I felt myself sinking down in their blood as it rose up over my ankles, up my calves, until it was up to my mouth and I couldn't swim. Couldn't scream for help because I'd already killed everyone. [sounds completely disgusted with himself.]

[stares for a moment, horrified by what he's just heard; swallows hard] I'll be right there. Put the kettle on.

[he blinks for a second, surprised at the suggestion, but then he simply nods]

[shuts off the sphere, and a moment later is politely knocking on the Doctor's door--he doesn't want to catch him off-guard, not now]

[greets him at the door. he still hasn't bothered to put a shirt on or anything.] Ollie. [moves aside so his friend can come in.]

Hey. I brought biscuits. [gestures with a container he's holding and steps inside]

[smiles weakly and leads him into the kitchen where the kettle's already on] What kind?

It's a mix. Oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip. I forget what else... [looks down at the package] Want some?

Ohh, sure. Chocolate chip, I think. To start. Have to be fair to the oatmeal ones as well.

[glances over at the kettle. still not ready yet.]

[starts fiddling with the container; why not start the biscuits before the tea? he gets the lid off and offers it out to the Doctor] Here.

[grabs one from the tin, biting off part of one and sets the other part of it onto the counter as the whistle in the kettle begins to sound off. removing the kettle from the stove, he tosses in a few teabags, leaving the strings hanging out the top of the kettle.]

It's plain old black tea, if that's okay. Didn't feel like anything fancy.

Sure, that's fine. [heads to one of the cupboards, pulling out two teacups]

[eats the rest of his biscuit, reaching for another.]

Ollie...you haven't gone to look at it yet, have you?

[frowns, shaking his head; he knew that question was coming--why else would he be up now?] No. I just had one of the usual nightmares is all.

Same one, huh? Nothing's changed this time?

Nothing new, no. I have a couple different ones now, but they don't really change.

[frowns] A couple of them, eh? I know about the one--know about that one very well. But what about the others? Have you told me about them before?

Maybe not... [he's talked about it with Lara, and he was going to talk to the Doctor the day those suits first appeared, but that definitely didn't go as planned...] It's always rather similar. But ever since Eos... [sighs, looking down] Sometimes it's the Puppeteer. And sometimes it's me.

You? How so?

The Puppeteer isn't there. It's just me--doing that.

Something tells me there's more to it than that.

[glances up at him, shrugging uncomfortably] It's not as bad as what you saw. And I've been through it enough times by now.

A nightmare's a nightmare, Oliver. If they're still getting you up this early, then there's something to this new one of yours, even if it isn't quite new.

[shakes his head] You don't understand, Doctor. It's the same dream. Anna's...still being choked. But sometimes it isn't the Puppeteer.
