[curfew's just ending and where is he? in his suite like an obedient passenger, except he's not chomping on his bit to leave as usual, no, not today. when the sphere turns on, he's standing in the bathroom, the door closed, and wearing only just a pair of pyjama bottoms as he hangs his head over the sink. his face remains hidden from view as water droplets slide down his hair and trickle down the tip of his poor swollen nose. wet hands clutch white-knuckled at the edges of the sink while goose pimples run up bare arms and down his naked torso as he just stands there for a moment longer, oblivious to the transmission.

with his back still to the sphere, he reaches for a towel, gripping it awkwardly with his thumb and tries pinning the material between it and the glove-like cast on his left hand. after fumbling with it for a moment, he shifts his body and grabs at it with his good hand, muttering something under his breath as he throws the towel over his head. it's right then, however, as he's drying his hair that he catches the sphere in the mirror's reflection--and how he can tell that it's on when it looks like a miniature sun, well, it's probably best not to ask. probably wouldn't give a straight answer anyway.

and whether he'll admit if he's been to the curious window on Level 23 or not is anybody's guess.]

[frowns slightly] Oh. The doppelganger nonsense...

Well, the one I...spoke to, didn't know you all that well, it seemed. Not when I talked to him anyway.

He must have been that one then. Monou-san has been quiet for most of the time.

The one you know or the one you don't know all that well?

The one I do not know too well. He seems to be older than the Monou-san I know.

Really? Well...he seemed like a nice bloke, even if I had given him a good shouting at when we first met...

Ah... he is not that different from Monou-san then.

What, you yelled at your one the first time you met him too?

Not quite. But I had gotten angry at him on several occasions.

[smiles a bit crookedly] Seems to be a common trait then.

[A tilt of the head- her version of a shrug.] They still seem to be the same person, deep down. Even though they are from different places and have different lives.

Oh yeah, no doubt about that here. I've met my fair share of parallel versions of people I've known. Not too many, mind you. I don't make it a habit of mine jumping from parallel world to parallel world. Almost reminds me of an Earth programme I caught once.

I suppose it will not be of any surprise to you, then, if we were to find a male version of myself roaming the ship.

[blinks] Well...the parallel versions tend to remain the same sex, but I suppose there are enough variables that it could happen somewhere down the line, so no, I wouldn't be surprised.
