[he blinks, looking around, very bewildered with the sudden change of environment. the room didn't look a thing like the Academy!]

Ummm...where is everyone? Koschei? Hello? [notices the sphere] Anyone at all?

[and then he notices that he's wearing an over-sized pinstripe suit, with sleeves that come down to his knees and the trouser legs are pooled around trainers that are far too big for his feet. he steps out of them, dragging the trouser legs around the floor until those fall off too. he sighs, slipping the tie off around his head--really, what need does he have for it now--and uses it to secure the trousers around his waist and quickly rolls up the trouser legs until he can see his feet.]

Well. If no one from the Academy is responding then...maybe I'm not there any more... [lets that fact sink in. a grin slowly grows on his face and he suddenly starts jumping around, cheering boisterously, and completely disregarding the fact that his trouser legs are quickly coming undone.]

Oh Earth! I was just reading a book about it! That planet sounds so fascinating. It'll definitely be the first one I visit when I get my own TARDIS.

And uh, my name...well, a couple other people have called me "Doctor", so let's go with that. Oh, and I'm from Gallifrey.

Japan? I'll have to remember that!

A TARDIS is a ship! A very special and sophisticated ship that can travel through all of space and backwards and forwards in time. I haven't ridden in one yet, but I hear it's the best, especially the Type 40s.

Never heard of--oh that's right. Earth is very isolated from the rest of the universe, so I'm not surprised. In any case, nice to make your acquaintance, Neku!

Anyway, where was I...? Oh yes! Vampires! Do you have them on Earth?

I've never seen them, but I've heard stories about them.

They can turn regular humans into vampires by biting them, and they suck out blood to survive. They can't go out into the sunlight though. And they live for a really, really long time.

I'm afraid my knowledge of Earth stories is rather limited at the moment. I'll need to rectify this soon... What is that?

It's the Snow Woman. She's really pretty, but she's not very nice. She freezes the people who are trapped in snow storms. And sometimes she walks around with a child in her arms, if you take the baby you'll freeze. But she's only ever seen in snowy places.

That doesn't sound too pleasant. Does she freeze you instantly, or is it more of a slow process?

[stares for a second] Wow... We don't have a story like that on Gallifrey. That sounds pretty cool! Not the turning to ice part, but in general.

[wide grin] There are a lot of stories like that from home. ...If you want we could trade stories?

[thinks of one] There's an old nursery rhyme dealing with an old enemy of Gallifrey named Zagreus. It goes: "Zagreus sits inside your head, Zagreus lives among the dead, Zagreus sees you in your bed and eats you when you're sleeping..."

He actually sounds pretty scary, but he's not real. Just a bogeyman or whatever you call figments of the imagination.

Hm...oh! There's the Nekomata, if a cat gets to keep a long tail it's tail will split. It can change shape to human form and if it eats the person taking care of it they can replace them.

But most of the time they're only playing tricks.
